Training harder
won't drop your
HYROX time.
Training right will.

If you're grinding 5–6 sessions a week and your race time keeps landing within a minute of your last one, the problem isn't your effort. It's the plan. Here's how the Fort Worth gym that's put athletes at every HYROX World Championship since 2022 fixes it.

Training in Fort Worth?
This is probably you.

Most athletes who walk into our gym have already been working hard for months — a big-box membership, a downloaded plan, a bootcamp habit. Effort was never their problem. Here's what actually was.

You signed up for HYROX Dallas, grabbed a free plan online, and you're grinding it out alone at a commercial gym — no sled, no wall-ball target, nobody checking your paces.
Your workouts leave you smoked, but the stations that decide the race — sled push, sled pull, wall balls — you've barely touched, and never under fatigue.
Your Trinity Trails miles feel great on fresh legs. But race legs after a sled push are a different animal, and nothing you're doing trains that.
You've got the discipline to train alone — but nobody pushing you, no one to pace off, and no coach in the room when your form breaks down late in the hour.
Every "hybrid" class in DFW is a random hard circuit with HYROX stickers on it. A hard hour is not a build.
You want to qualify for Worlds — or just beat your buddy at Dallas — but there's no plan connecting today's session to race day.
The fix isn't more effort. It's a protocol — and a room.

We've published the full breakdown of where HYROX race time actually lives — the runs, the stations, the transitions — on our HYROX Online program page. In Fort Worth, you don't just read it. You train it, in a room full of people running the same build, with a coach watching every session.

The Short Version — Proof This Works

FTX has had athletes on the floor at every HYROX World Championship since 2022 — 20 Worlds qualifiers and 52 podium finishes, built in this room. This season alone: 15 podiums by 14 different athletes, and 10 athletes at Worlds in Stockholm.

Talon Smith built FTX
for the athlete you are.

Talon Smith has raced HYROX more than 50 times, qualified for the World Championships five times, and built FTX — an Official HYROX Training Partner — around a protocol, not a class schedule. The results speak: 20 Worlds qualifiers, 52 podium finishes, and FTX athletes on the floor at every World Championship since 2022.

The FTX Protocol

Three things we do
that most don't.

Anyone can throw wall balls and a ski erg into a circuit — plenty of gyms in DFW do. The reason FTX keeps producing qualifiers and podiums comes down to three principles we coach in the room, every single day.

01

Build The Engine

Over half the race is running, so most of your training builds the aerobic base that holds pace late. In class that means real erg volume and easy work at prescribed effort — with a coach making sure easy actually stays easy.

02

Easy Easy. Hard Genuinely Hard.

The most common mistake in this sport is living in the gray middle zone. Every FTX class has a lane — base, threshold, or race-specific — and the coach holds you to it, even when your ego wants to push.

03

Compromised Running

The race never lets you run fresh. Our floor is set up for station-into-run work — sleds into runs, wall balls into runs — trained weekly at prescribed paces, not left to chance.

The Rest Is The Craft

How this gets dosed — to your goal, your schedule, your race date — is the coaching. That happens in the room at Camp Bowie, not on a web page.

Your First Session

What to expect
at your first class.

No fitness test, no sales tour, no getting thrown to the wolves. Here's exactly how your first hour at 6775 Camp Bowie Blvd goes.

01

Show Up 10 Minutes Early

Park in the lot off Camp Bowie, walk in, and ask for the coach. We'll get your waiver signed, hear your goal and your race if you have one, and introduce you to the class.

02

Warm Up With The Team

Every class opens with a coached warm-up built for that day's work. You won't be guessing in a corner — you're moving with the group from minute one.

03

Train The Session — Scaled To You

Same session as everyone else, dosed to your level. Sleds, ergs, wall balls, runs — the coach sets your loads and paces so you finish worked, not wrecked.

04

Bring Shoes And Water

We've got the rest. After class, if you want a plan for your next race, we'll talk. If not, no pitch — you're welcome back either way.

Real Questions

Stuff you're
wondering.

"I've never done a HYROX. Is this only for competitors?"
No. That wall has everything from huge PRs to a 56-minute doubles team on it, and first-timers join this team every month. Same principles, same coaching — only the dose changes. Most first-timers sign up for a race within their first two months because the team makes it feel normal.
"I already run and lift. Why isn't that enough?"
Because volume without structure is just fatigue. If your easy days aren't easy and your hard days aren't hard, nothing adapts — you're tired, not faster. The protocol keeps them in their lanes, and that's where the PRs come from.
"How fast will my time actually drop?"
Depends where your time is leaking — that's the first thing we look at. Athletes coming from random training usually have the most room in aerobic base and compromised running, and those respond within one build. We won't promise a number before we've seen you move. Anyone who does is guessing.
"What does a week actually look like?"
Running work, strength, erg volume, HYROX-specific sessions, and real recovery — each with a job, dosed to your goal. Class gives you the daily structure; the plan behind it is ours to manage.
"Do I have to pick a competitive goal?"
No. Worlds, PR, or Race Good / Look Good — no goal here is bigger than another. The mission is the same: get better, enjoy the course, live healthy alongside this team.
"Is the trial class actually free?"
Yes. One free class, no card required. And if you join, membership is month-to-month — no long-term contract, no retention script. If it's not for you, we shake hands and you keep the pacing knowledge.
